Dr. Sally Song visits Holy Spirit School

An orthodontist from Wayne gave second and third graders a dental presentation — and a hands-on impressions activity.

On Tuesday, Holy Spirit School welcomed Dr. Sally Song from the Orthodontic Center in Wayne for an engaging and educational dental presentation with students in second and third grade. Dr. Song provided students with valuable information on the importance of proper dental care and maintaining good oral hygiene habits, emphasizing daily brushing, flossing, and healthy eating choices to protect their teeth.

During the presentation, Dr. Song also introduced students to the world of orthodontics, explaining what they can expect during an orthodontic visit and how orthodontic care helps keep smiles healthy and strong. She shared age-appropriate explanations of common orthodontic tools and techniques, helping to ease any nervousness students may have about future appointments.

One of the highlights of the visit was a fun, hands-on activity in which students participated in creating dental impressions using alginate. This interactive experience allowed students to better understand how orthodontists create molds of teeth as part of treatment planning.

Holy Spirit School is grateful to Dr. Song for taking the time to educate our students and for making learning about dental health both informative and enjoyable.
