Google Classroom guardian summaries

Grades 4 through 8 use Google Classroom. Parents can get a daily or weekly email summary of what is due, what is missing and what the teacher has posted.

Keep track of your student's classroom progress through guardian email summaries. You can choose the frequency of the emails — daily or weekly — and you can unsubscribe or remove yourself from Classroom at any time.

What a summary includes

  • Missing work — work that is late at the time the email was sent.
  • Upcoming work — work due today and tomorrow for daily emails, or work due in the coming week for weekly emails.
  • Class activity — announcements, assignments and questions recently posted by teachers.

Getting invited

As a guardian you must receive and accept an email invitation before you can receive summaries. Only teachers and administrators from your student's school can send these invitations.

You do not need a Gmail address to be invited — you can use your current email address. You will need a Google Account to accept the invitation, but you can create one with your existing address. A Google Account lets you set the frequency of emails, update your locale, and view all students connected to you.
